Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, I then spent 12 years in a wonderful commuter village near London, and recently decided to try an expat lifestyle and relocated to sunny Doha. I had the same experience when I went back home, I felt uneasy, but only for one day. I got used to it quickly. BTW, French men kiss each other too.
ReplyDeletesame is true for Armenia and quite a few other ex-Soviet countries. Also, in Middle East and Latin America countries you will frequently see 'macho smooches' :)
